In the twenty-six year history of the Hawaii Ironman only thirteen women have been able to call themselves the "Ironman World Champion". Lori is one of this very select group of women... for the second time in her career.

06-07-16: Lori Bowden never doubted she’d be back and back she certainly is. Just ten months after giving birth to her first child (Tyson), Bowden proved she can be a mom and an Ironman Champion with a remarkable 2nd place finish at Ironman Austria. While her cycling is not yet back to previous form, her 5:12 split was a marked improvement over earlier races and Bowden was still had the legs to run a closing 3:04 marathon. 06-06-21: Two-Time Ironman Triathlon World Champion, Lori Bowden, is back to competition following the birth of her son, Tyson.  Last weekend, Lori capped four consecutive weeks of racing with a second place finish at the Canadian Long Distance Championships in her hometown of Victoria, B.C. “I’m encouraged” said Bowden. “I’m swimming better than ever, my running is strong, and I just need to log more miles on my bike’’. Lori’s four week span of races included 4 mile and half marathon running races and a second place finish at the Oliver Half Ironman Triathlon.

06-05-01: Lori Bowden is getting ready to return to racing this summer after giving birth to son Tyson seven months ago. Mathew Dale caught up with the two-time Ford Ironman World Champion.

06-02-01: It’s been a while, but after a bit of hiatus from Ironman racing for a year the two – time Ironman World champ is preparing for her return to racing in 2006. Although Lori’s schedule has not been finalized it will include seeing her return to Kona in October for the Ford Ironman Triathlon World Championships. Don’t let her “bubbly” demeanor fool you… Lori wants to redeem herself of the lingering disappointment in her last performance on the big island.
